Natural Horsemanship

Techniques, Methods and Tips

Logo

Natural horsemanship or horse whispering as many like to call it is all about communicating with the horse and joining up using many techniques and methods to build a partnership that is similar to that of wild horses.

Horses are herd animals they communicate with each other through

1. Body language

2. Ear position

3. Threatening movements

4. Noises

5. Gestures

Through training we aim to use those communicating methods like that of the horse, to create this relationship of confidence, respect and trust allowing us to communicate with the horse.

Through understanding your horse and using natural horse training methods the results can be remarkable.

There are a number of excellent horse trainers who use the techniques.

Pat Parelli (Parelli horse training)

Monty Roberts (Horse Whisperer)

There are also many others who like Pat and Monty have developed their own style and methods, yet they all focus on the fact that:

If we want to communicate effectively with our horses we must begin by understanding the horse as a herd animal and the way they communicate within that herd.

These horse trainers have learnt when they need to use their eyes, body language and tone of voice to begin communicating with the horse.

Only then when they have this trust, respect and understanding can they begin to adopt natural horse training techniques.
